Farmhouse, Perthshire

We received a somewhat panicked phone call from a lovely couple who had been carrying out a major renovation and extension of a farmhouse in Perthshire. They were at the stage where much of the building work had been completed but, as is so often the case, had not really put a great deal of thought into the final look and feel of the house – lighting, paint colours, carpets, curtains etc. and were in need of rather urgent assistance. The architect had done a fantastic job as the house was light and airy and had a fabulous feel so, although it was pressurised as there were lots of decisions to be made in a short space of time, it was a fun project to work on. Working intensely with them, we were quickly able to establish the look and feel that they wanted and pulled schemes together which created a harmonious flow throughout the house and maintained the relaxed farmhouse vibe. We advised where some changes needed to be made with regards to lighting and helped them decide where to hang some of their artwork. Everything went smoothly meaning that the stress levels for the clients was greatly reduced and the result was a beautiful home.

Farrow and Ball’s Cromarty was used for the wall colour in the entrance hall and stairwell to bring gentle colour to these areas.
