New Town Flat, Edinburgh

This top floor flat in Edinburgh’s New Town was to be a pied-de-terre for our clients. It hadn’t been touched for many years so required a full refurbishment including a full re-wire, re-plumb and the addition of a second bathroom. We drew up detailed room layouts including floor and electrical plans as well as drawings for custom made wardrobes and shelving units and oversaw all the trades once work commenced. Our clients wanted a ‘home from home’ so we sought to create a country house feel that would work in this city flat. With the use of soft wall colours throughout the result was a flat that was a calming and comfortable retreat from the bustle of city life.

This room was originally the extremely tired bathroom. We moved the loo from where it was located under the window and created a wet room shower in this space. There is a fabulous view from the shower over to Fife. The window is sufficiently high not to be overlooked so no window coverings were required.
